It is June 29 - 31 (2 nights) at Peace Village in upstate, NY. Re-awakening the Greatness in the Heart of a Mother: Inner resources for Mothering in the 21 st Century 'Parenting is a lifelong spiritual process. We are growing and learning with our children every day.' For generations, women were supported in their roles as mothers by a close network of family and sustained by values sacred to the family. Today, the family system is weakening; intrinsic values that guided relationships are being replaced by external value systems, leaving us with inadequate and confused feelings. A mother, however, is still the heart of the home and the virtues and values she demonstrates naturally in family situations are the examples that the world needs today. Join us for a weekend where mothers with like minds and shared intentions will explore ways to tap into our greatest source of wisdom and strength. Together we will focus on specific techniques to feel empowered to be our authentic loving selves and to play our roles with respect, dignity and resilience. You can bring these qualities and more back to your family after you give this valuable time to yourself. Would you find it difficult to take a break from everyday life responsibilities for this? The Mothering retreat is designed to put you in touch with your inner spiritual resources, so you can better handle the daily pressures of multi-tasking, staying focused, finding quality time for your family, and also taking quality time with yourself. $150 - $200 contribution is requested......very reasonable....this includes all workshops, healthy, vegetarian meals and double occupancy accomodations. The workshops led by parenting pros, and spiritual advisors, will address a wide range of topics. Spouses are able to join you for the weekend, but not in the workshops. Childcare is provided for children age 5 and older. It is a really special place.....with an emphasis on achieving peace thru meditation,as led by Brahma Kumaris. It is not a religious organization....but rather a worldwide, non profit group staffed by volunteers dedicated to spiritual growth.
